One Goal Friday: September 17, 2010

Didn't make it the ACFW Conference this year? Well, stop here for a while. We're having virtual ice cream and setting a goal for the next week.

Two of my fabulous critique partners are at the conference, and I get all jittery and excited thinking they will be pitching their projects, meeting each other and our friends for the first time, and leaving their families for a few days of much needed writer time. Good luck, girls!!

My other critique partner and I are home--on opposite ends of the country--sighing and wishing we were at conference too. Maybe next year?

So if you aren't at conference and a tiny piece of you wishes you were, pull up a spoon and pick a flavor. I'm embibing in Jamocha Almond Fudge. Mmm...

Also, welcome to the new goal setters. I'm very glad you joined the Friday fun, and I look forward to learning more about you.

My goal last week was to add another 8000 words to my novel. I am set to hit that goal this afternoon. Woo-hoo!

How did you do? It always energizes me to read your goals. I hope you met them!

My goal for this week is to finish choreographing a dance routine for our school's cheerleading squad. Yes, I busted out some 80's moves, checked YouTube for current dance sequences, and realized it's been a while since I've danced. I hope the girls like it. It's been so much fun!

What about you? What one goal will enhance your life this week?

Please leave your goal in the comment section. Newcomers are welcome to participate, and don't worry if you can't stop by every Friday--my blog's goal isn't to add stress but to be a place of support.

Have a terrific weekend!

  3. The ice cream looks wonderful! :) Thanks for sharing the picture. I made a little progress on projects this week, and will continue next week. Spending more time in the Word, too, which has been refreshing.
    Happy weekend!
    Blessings,
    Karen

  6. Hi Jill, I'm hoping to finish that first draft that I've been trying to finish for a few weeks.

I'm running a marathon tomorrow and my goal is to finish without getting injured :-)

Then I'll have some of that ice cream!!

  7. I managed to get certain aspects of my life organized this week, but not all of them. So, again this week, my goal is to get organized.

  8. Hi, Jill. I didn't make it to ACFW, either. Sigh.

I made my goals! Yippee Dippee!!!

My goals for this week are to SEND the Guideposts article, and get some yard work done.

I used to work next door to a Baskin Robbins. Jamocha Almond Fudge was one of my faves.

    Happy Weekend!
    Jen

  9. I am so bad at goals but I am going to aim for exercising almost every day. I'll tackle the diet at a later date.

I've never been the ACFW Conference but I hope to go someday.

  10. Tabitha: Yay! And good luck with your memoir--I know it will be fantastic!

CJ: Whew! That's great. I'll have to stop by your blog to check the latest out!

Karen: I'm glad you made progress and spent time with the Word. Makes all the difference, doesn't it?

Wendy: Have a double scoop for those goals--nice! Good luck!

Joanne: Woo-hoo! I always enjoy your blog!

Paul: Hey, sometimes life gets in the way of finishing those first drafts. I know you'll get it done. And good luck with your marathon tomorrow!!

Susan M: It's hard to get everything organized, but good for you for making progress!

Jen: Great job! Your goals this week sound perfect. I hope the weather cooperates. I used to live next door to Baskin Robbins--it was heavenly!

Amy: I read an excellent book about taking the whole health thing one step at a time. I think it's overwhelming to diet and exercise all at once. Have fun exercising!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

  11. Hi Jill -

Since virtual chocolate has no calories (or lactose), I'll dig into some of that ice cream you're eating. :)

I didn't make my goal this week. Life hit in a good way with positive health news, spending more time with Mom, etc.

Next week is looking equally good, but distracting. My goal is to get some quality time to work on my manuscript.

    Blessings,
    Susan :)

  13. Oh, Jill I had a lovely time at the conference! I learned so much! I have lots to blog about...revisions to make, submissions to submit. :) It was wonderful...The ladies in the Kansas SCBWI were awesome!

My goals this week are minimal though...My house should have the final reconstruction done after the summer disasters this week and then I can put everything back in place...So my goals are blog and be a homemaker. :)

I hope you have a wonderful week!
