What a great week! We wrapped up our summer sports, spent time with dear friends, and were blessed with long, sunny days. I worked a new arc into the book I'm polishing up, and I started researching my new book.
The jogging regimen I started in May? Still hanging in there. I can run longer distances now, but I still have to force myself to get moving.
My goal last week was to organize my writing files. Mission accomplished! And I had a fun time shopping for supplies. I could spend a fortune in any office supply store.
Here are your goals from last week:
Wendy: Polish Noble and go full guns with Partridge
Tabitha: Submit short pieces to magazines
CJ: Dream goal--to hire housekeeper and work on art all day (*sigh* wouldn't that be wonderful?)
Lynn: Continue Camy Tang's online writing class and stage photo-shoot to create new story
Erica: Write (I know you're making incredible progress--nice job!)
Loree: Revise four chapters
Jen: Transfer writing files from plastic bin to file cabinet
Jennifer: 4k words
Sharon: Two blog posts, finalize Cake pb ms, one chapter of mg hf novel, and maintain sanity
T. Anne: 10k and edit
Abby: Make new friends at music camp
Maria: Finish two articles
Janna: Keep editing
Kelly F: 1k/1hr (fun challenge!)
Terri: Read my ms (Thank you Terri!)
Jessica: Squats. Many squats (do some for me)
Lia: Finish editing two chapters
Quiet Spirit: Finalize closing up SIL's apartment
Susan JR: Survive more dental work
How did you do? These goals were amazing! It's July--hot, humid, lazy July--and you are still rocking your goals. Impressive.
My goal for next week is to finish researching my new book and create my scene outline.
What one goal will enhance your life this week?
Please leave your goal in the comment section. Newcomers are welcome to participate, and don't worry if you can't stop by every Friday--my blog's goal isn't to add stress but to be a place of support.
Have a fabulous weekend!
I am almost done with my goal from last week!
ReplyDeleteThis week is to read my own MS again and check for anything needy still.
I forgot to do a lot of squats but I did some situps and calf lifts. ;-)
ReplyDeleteGo you on the running!
This weekend I need to keep working on sending out queries and polishing my historical just in case it gets requested *crossing fingers*
I submitted :)
ReplyDeleteYou run? I love running. I run 10km (don't know what that is in miles) The first few km suck no matter how far you can run. Keep at it. :)
I made lots of new friends at the music camp! I'm so relieved because it was hard for me but I did it!
ReplyDeleteNow... learn to play piano better.
I can happily and proudly say, I have finally gotten back on the treadmill. I am going to keep going! :O)
ReplyDeleteHey Jill! Great job on the running...I'm jealous. I used to work out like a madwoman....now I'm proud if I walk the dog. Jeesh!
ReplyDeleteMy goal for next week: add another 12k to the story. I'm starting Act 3 this week, so hopefully, next Friday's goal will be: finish the rough draft. Eek!
I'm eh hem stilllllll polishing Noble. What is wrong with me? I did jump in and start to chip away at Partridge, but oi.
ReplyDeleteGoal for next week...give me mom hundreds of hugs!
~ Wendy
The goal this week will be restoring programs and data files to my PC. The PC was running sluggish even though I perform weekly disk clean and virus/malware scans. Took it to the Geek Squad. Initially, they said it was in fine shape, but during a deep scan a virus was found. They couldn't remove it entirely so had to scrub the entire disk.
ReplyDeleteGood morning!
ReplyDeleteTerri: You are awesome! Great goal for next week, too!
Jessica: Yay on the sit-ups! And double YAY on submitting! Fingers and toes crossed for requests!!
Tabitha: Woo-hoo!! Way to go! Nerve-wracking, isn't it? :) And wow, I can't believe you can run 10k. I eek out just over a mile and feel like I won the Olympics! Sad!
Abby: I knew you would! It's a life skill, putting ourselves out there to make friends, and it's worth it.
Diane: Whoa! Good for you! Keep going with it!
Katie: Oh, I don't work out like a maniac, but you just keep on believing that. :) I make it just over a mile and act like I ran a marathon. You are making incredible progress on your wip!! Good job!
Wendy: We aren't even going to go into how long I've worked on the Barter book. I feel your pain. Go have a cookie and hug your mom!
Thanks so much for stopping by!
CJ: Uggh. Computer problems. I'm glad you got it figured out before it crashed, but putting all those files back on is a big pain. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for stopping by!
I love this, Jill! I look forward to it every week--it helps me stay on task. Thanks so much for being a great friend.
ReplyDeleteI got 2/3 done with my files, so praise God for that!
My goals this week are to exercise at least 3 times and finish my files. And to have fun.
I've been thinking and praying about Twittering... I'll let you know, k? You got me thinking, girl.
Jill, I'm so impressed with the way you engage with your followers! Have a good weekend.
ReplyDeleteI finished my homework, and realize I'll be making re-writes a goal soon. I didn't stage a photo because, unlike you, we had lots of rain.
ReplyDeleteGoal this week is tweet twice a day. With your encouragement, I'll try out the twitter thing again!
Jill I could never run in your shoes~ I loathe running! Ack!
ReplyDeleteMy goal next week is dive back into my MS. It's been too long, and now that baby is not causing me nausea and long bouts of sleep I think I can swing it:)
I did not set a goal last week because I was gone so much and I needed a break. I guess taking a break was my goal. Check!
ReplyDeleteThis week...oh, yeah, goal is my middle name. I hope to write at least 10K on MD, get up earlier in the mornings to exercise, and get my house cleaned up!
Jen: I thought of you yesterday when I organized my files. And can you believe it--I now can find any article in three seconds flat! It's the best feeling! Don't pressure yourself with Twitter. You already do an amazing job with social networking!
ReplyDeleteKathy: Welcome! And what a nice compliment! I'm smiling right now. Thank you very much!
Lynn: Good for you! As far as the photo shoot, it's good to be flexible. It wouldn't have turned out with all the rain!
Tamika: I don't like getting in those shoes, either! Running does not come naturally to this gal! Oh, and that's awesome you're feeling better with the pregnancy. Now you can enjoy ice cream!
Cindy: You were obnoxiously busy. No sense in setting a goal during those times! And your goals for this week? Let's just say you're my hero!
Thanks so much for stopping by!
1k/1h met! Yay!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to the same goal again.
My cousin and I run as well!
You go girl!
What regimen did you start?
We did couch to 5k, and we're doing it again, but muuuuch slower.
We're just doing for the exercise.
:)
Hoping to go further.
Good luck with your goals!
So excited about the progress I'm making on the WIP. Less than 20K to go, and hoping to get it finished by the end of the month. So my goal for this week is 10K words by Friday.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on sticking with the jogging and for getting your writing files all tidy!
Make great inroads in corrections to The Rhythm of Secrets!
ReplyDeleteFinish the teacher crits for my memoir class
Have a great weekend!
Jill:
ReplyDeleteGot the utilities shut off at SIL's apt. Waiting for the change of address to kick-in. Turned in the keys. We had two women who worked hard to get the belongings divied up.
We have sorted through pictures and now have to get those mailed to the identified people.
This next week, I intend to do some serious writing on a series of skits based on the theme of God speaking to us.
Finish and send my synopsis.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a great week! Happy for you.
ReplyDeleteMy goal is to get my "new" room cleaned up and organized. I can't wait.
ReplyDeleteHi, Jill! I actually surpassed my goals for the week! I even managed to keep my sanity. Our insurance company is the best! They have done a great job and taking care of organizing most of our flood problems. :)
ReplyDeleteGoals for next week...Write 20 pages of my ya romance and do 7 blog posts.
Thanks for keeping us focused!
Kelly: Woo-hoo!! I run just over a mile and act as if I cured cancer. It's sad. :)
ReplyDeleteErica: Thanks! And I know you'll finish this week!
Patti: Awesome! Good luck!
Quiet Spirit: I'm so glad you've taken care of your SIL's things. I'm sure it must be a relief. Good luck this week!
Julie: Oooh, sending virtual brownies your way (synopsis-yuck!).
Em: I did, thanks! Hope yours is terrific.
Nancy: Sounds like a fun project! Hope the wedding was wonderful!
Sharon: What a relief! I'm glad your insurance company did you right. Have fun with your goals this week!
Thanks so much for stopping by!
I hit 10K but didn't edit. Why is summer so darn busy??? FOr next week I' d like to hit an additional 10K and maybe catch a nap. ;)
ReplyDeleteT.Anne: Uggh! I hear you! Summer has been crazy busy for us too. I'm hoping the next few weeks will bring relief. Great job on getting your 10k in!!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for stopping by!
Woo hoo for keeping up with your goals! With summer half over already, my goals are less about my to do list and more about time with my kids. :)
ReplyDeleteWonderful blog here, just added myself as a follower!
ReplyDeleteI need to get back on a exercise regimen. I was going so good before our family trip to the lake but then afterwards I kind of stopped. Oops...
As for my writing goals this week, it's to finish preparing myself and my writing for the Romance Writers of America Nationals conference I will be attending next week!
CMOM: Spending time with the kids is always on my list! Have fun with yours!
ReplyDeleteLindsey: Welcome! I'm so glad you found my blog. My first Nationals was last year and I had so much fun. I wish you safe travels and hope you have the time of your life!
Thanks so much for stopping by!
