Holley even offers free, printable worksheets for each chapter. I fill them out as I go along.
(BTW: It's not too late to join the book club. We're talking about chapter four soon, so if you think this sounds good, head to Cara's blog! You can even sign up for e-mail notifications when the next post goes live.)
At the end of chapter one, Holley suggests creating a vision board.
I know all about vision boards--I've made a few in my day! (For more info on making your own vision board, check out this post, "Vision Boards" from my archives.)
Anyway, I spent a few days cutting out words, phrases, and tons of pictures. My son even joined me! Yes, this is a fun project for all ages. When I had enough to work with, I spread them out on a poster board. I'm thrilled with the end result. Here's my updated vision board.
What would you put on your vision board?
Have a fabulous day!
I love your board, Jill! You did a great job. I'd put...chocolate on my board. Because all dreams are better with chocolate! lol
ReplyDeleteChocolate should be on every writer's board--I agree! All dreams are better with chocolate!!
DeleteWow, what a cool idea in regards to Cara's book club and the board! I think I may try my hand at this....the book sounds worthy of a read :) Happy reading!

Hannah, I LOVE the book! It's so easy to get discouraged--this book cures it!
DeleteLove your board and I'm loving this book, too. So glad Cara started the online book club. :) I think I might fill my vision board with pictures of the people who are constantly encouraging me to keep going and pursuing my dreams. It's something I've been thinking a lot about recently--the people in my life who spur me on.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea, Melissa! Where would we be without supportive friends? :)
DeleteMy vision board would be kind of an "anti-discouragement" board.
ReplyDeleteI'd put pictures of all the dogs we've saved, and to whom we've given happy lives when they would otherwise have been killed.
Sometimes I wonder if I've done enough. The board would be pretty well-populated, and it would set things in their correct perspective.

Never wonder if you've done enough, Andrew--you answered that call and helped so many dogs. You still are! :)
DeleteWow. That's a challenge in itself just to think of what I'd put on a vision board. I mean, I know my vision, but never thought about doing something tangible to keep in my face. Great idea!
ReplyDeleteA vision board should bring a smile to your face. It's a nice reminder of what the future could hold!
DeleteGreat idea -- as the author of the bestselling book THE VISION BOARD -- I'd suggest that you all put your own picture in the center of the board -- that way you "own" your vision. To see a free chapter of THE VISION BOARD go to http://tinyurl.com/seeinsidebook
ReplyDeleteI love this idea, Joyce! I'm so glad you joined us--I've heard of your book! Thank you so much for popping in!
