We're taking a few weeks off from the Writer's Life series. Since the middle of 2014 is almost here (how is this possible??), I'm using the remaining days to stay inspired.
I'm a big fan of Pinterest. I don't use it for any purpose other than to relax. All the pretty pins, the motivational quotes, the house ideas, the yummy food photos, and funny fails ease my tension. Last night I clicked on my inspiration board--surprise, surprise, it inspired me!
Many of the pins on this board are quotes. Others are art, or cardinals, or even my own photos. The picture above is one I took in Saugatuck, MI last summer. We ate outside at a little seafood joint, and it was wonderful!
Another of my favorite pins? The one below because it led me to Rachel Wojo's fabulous site! She is your go-to gal for Christian inspiration, let me tell you. :)
I often go back to her "30 Inspirational Bible Verses" post. It's just what I need when I'm discouraged or worried.
One of my goals this summer is to spend a few lazy hours on my porch each week. Sipping tea, flipping through a magazine, reading a great book, or just watching the birds. All are good for my soul!
Do you have any inspiration triggers? I'd love to hear them!
Have a terrific day!!
Last year we purchased a yard bench. I try to make use of it as often as I can. We wait until evening and enjoy the quiet and the view we see. It has rained of and on these past two days so I haven't been able to sit out. Tonight and the rest of the week, we have VBS. So, I might not get out there until after I get home.
ReplyDeleteOoh, sounds fantastic! There's something so relaxing about sitting in your own yard. It's been raining here too. One minute it's blazing hot--the next it's a storm! Blessings to your VBS week!
DeleteI'm right there with you, Jill. How is in the middle of 2014 already? I love Pinterest. People are SO creative -- especially with photography. That's my inspiration trigger. I love grabbing my camera and heading into a city, wide open spaces, or dense forests -- anything and everything could be the focus of my lens. Thank for this reminder to take time and enjoy what inspires us! And thanks for the link to Rachel's Pinterest board. Excellent!
ReplyDeleteMiddle of 2014!! Not even possible! Pinterest people are super creative! That's so cool you get inspired using photography. I do too! I like taking random nature shots. Too bad we didn't live closer--we could take inspiration walks with our cameras!
DeleteBeing outside. That completely inspires me! In summer at least:) And I'm completely ignoring the fact that we are 1/2 way through 2014. I think summer should expand by a few months this year.
