I took this picture from our front porch a week ago. The rain brought a double rainbow! |
Saturday brought a fun festival to a town nearby, but rain threatened to ruin the outing. Thirty minutes of rain preceded twenty minutes of humid heat, then the rain came back, then the temperature dropped...you get the idea.
But Sunday, glorious Sunday--Father's Day--arrived clear and perfect. Mid-seventies, a light breeze, and cotton-ball clouds chugging through the sky. From our deck, my husband and I watched the sun go down, and the weather was so mild and lovely we stayed out there well past dark. Even the mosquitoes left us in peace.
What can I say? It's mid-June in Ohio. We get a little bit of everything weather-wise here!
I'd love to hear what your mid-June weather looks like. Hades-worthy heat? Rain, rain, and more rain? Tornado alerts every five seconds? Please share!
Have a terrific Monday!
We had rain nearly every day for two weeks. The ark is parked in the backyard, and I was afraid it would have to set sail especially when a bit of water seeped into the basement.
ReplyDeleteIt's been very wet here too, Ceejay. Hope you have room in that ark for me! :)
DeleteRight now we're going back and forth between the heat and the rain.
ReplyDeleteHeat and rain usually add up to tornadoes. I hope your family stays safe!
DeleteLike you, we get just about everything--rain and thunderstorms, cool mornings and evenings, hot days...and oh that horrible humidity that kills my hair!!! :)
ReplyDeleteUgh, the humidity!! Don't get me started! I get your weather about a day and a half after you do. My sister lives in Iowa and whatever she gets we tend to get the next day!
DeleteRain, rain, rain here! And the temperatures swing wildly from scorching heat to freezing cold in the course of a week. This year everything is leaning more toward cold. We're even still making soup some nights for supper - in June! Crazy.
ReplyDeleteSame here! I had to get a heavy jacket for baseball last week. Come on!!
DeleteI've never heard a tornado siren go off in real-time. I think my heart would skip at least 5 beats. We don't have basements in south Texas because they'd just sink all the way to China. Here, it's just HOT. Africa-HOT. :)
ReplyDeleteI grew up with tornado sirens! I barely blink now! :) I wondered about basements where you're at...
DeleteAfrica hot is way too hot! I'm sending you some mild weather right now!!
OH yes, up here we get the same! Sunday started cold and cloudy and by afternoon we were playing in full sun at the lake:) You never know what you'll get from week to week, keeps us on our toes! Today is gorgeous and HOT!
ReplyDeleteEvery morning is a surprise, isn't it?? Same here!!
DeleteSaturday was gorgeous. Mom and I packed our snacks and hit the road. What fun!
ReplyDeleteSunday, the weather was a bit dreary with a few raindrops.
How fun, Susan! I would love to mini-road-trip it with my mom! Glad you had a good time!
