I need a vacation. It's been a busy, wonderful, hectic year. Yesterday I didn't get out of my pajamas until 12:30 pm but only because I didn't want to lose five minutes of revising time. The deadline I set WILL be met!! It. Will. Be. Met.
Yes, I attacked the emergency KitKat bar in the fridge. No, I do not regret it.
Since I'm unable to sit on the beach at this time, I figured I'd do the next best thing. Watch a video of turquoise waters, boats, sails, waves, and the glorious sky.
Why don't you do the same? Take a few minutes. Relax. Let your soul breathe!
Are you desperate for a vacation? Where would you go if you had the choice?
*Exciting update: My book, New Lease on Love, is a finalist in ACFW's Genesis contest for unpublished writers! Praise God!*
Have a wonderful Wednesday!
I would love to spend a few days in a little cabin in the mountains with my laptop.
ReplyDeleteI would love to join you! Wouldn't that be wonderful??
DeleteCongratulations on the final, Jill! Love this news! Oh man, yes to sailing, yes to travel, yes to stuffing my face with yummy foods! Yes, yes, yes!
ReplyDeleteI want all that, Wendy! Bring it on!! Yes!!
DeleteJust got back from my first vacation to Florida with my family. Be jealous. Be very jealous. It was WONDERFUL!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd CONGRATS on the Genesis final!!!! I saw your name and squealed for you!!!
I AM jealous!! Ha!! You deserve a vacation, though, Krista. I'm glad you had a wonderful time!! (And thanks sooooo much!!)
DeleteEvery day is a vacation in the sun room.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely! And if there's a little black cat named Ink it's an even better vacation... :)
DeleteI always feel like I need a vacation ;) But, seriously... sometimes a weekend away from home can feel like a vacation, it doesn't have to be long. My choice: Israel. I will be traveling there again in the fall, so looking forward to it!
ReplyDeleteWow, Marja!! Israel, really?? What an amazing trip! I'd love to go there someday. Have a wonderful time!!
DeleteI'd head to the beach in a Minnesota minute if I could! We vacation in a lovely, less populated area around the gulf coast and there's nothing like hearing the peaceful sound of the incoming tide and the sond of the seagulls... Ahhh. (Not to mention the delicious shrimp and melted garlic butter... But I digress... LOL)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your Genesis final, Jill! I actually cried! So excited for you! :)
Minnesota is so gorgeous in the summer--and there are like a million lakes!
DeleteThe gulf coast description you just shared actually made me black out in rapture for a moment--it sounds awesome!! (Thanks, Cindy!! I cried too--on the phone! And I appreciate all the support you've given me for years. Big hugs!!)
I'm headed to Minnesota next week for some R&R and great brainstorming time with writer friends! It's gonna be amazing! And then in August, hubby and I are going to San Diego for a week. *sigh* Can't wait!
ReplyDeleteSo excited for your final, Jill. I was praying I'd see your name on the list!!
Oooh, I love Minnesota in the summer! Brainstorming with friends rates high on my list too! I'm thrilled for you, too, Lindsay! I hope they announce your name as the winner!!
DeleteFirst of all, YAY for finaling. You rock, Jill!!
ReplyDeleteSecond, oh yeah, I need a vacay. I'm up against a deadline right now, but as soon as I meet it (on Monday) I get to have a life again!! And that week I'll be heading up to Minnesota (see Lindsay's comment above!) for a wonderfully refreshing time. :)
Sending prayers, virtual chocolate, Tim Tebow posters, and hugs for you to make it through this weekend!! Thanks!
DeleteYes, a vacation sounds wonderful! Near water, with no responsibilities, except perhaps to occasionally play in said water with the kids. My laptop, lots of chocolate. Oh, and to accept hugs from said kids. That sounds wonderful about now. :)
ReplyDeleteOur real life vacay will be to Yellowstone later this summer. It should be lots of fun to have some days away from our normal routine. I'm definitely looking forward to it!
I would love to see Yellowstone! What a great vacation plan! yay!! Your dream vacay sounds a lot like mine. :)
DeleteOh, I can always use a vacation:) And a Kit Kat!
ReplyDeleteCongrats again, Jill! Now get back to work;)
Ha, ha! I did. Sending KitKats your way!!
DeleteOur son lives in Kansas. He was home the week of Memorial Day. He came home because Hubby didn't think we could make it our there.(600 miles, one way.) We might try to go fishing again this summer, down where Hubby grew up.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you were able to see your son! That's a long, long drive. Enjoy your fishing this summer!
DeleteAll this Minnesota talk on your blog today makes me feel right at home! :) Next week Lindsay, Melissa and Alena T. will be arriving for a retreat at my house. We live on the Mississippi, so there will be a lot of campfires, boat rides and relaxation. I don't spend as much time near the water as I'd like, but that's because we have three year old twin boys and we avoid the water at all costs. As soon as they're old enough, I'm putting a hammock right by the water...ahhh...
ReplyDeleteA HUGE congrats on the final, Jill! Does this mean you're coming to ACFW now?!?!?! Can't wait to cheer you up to the podium!!!!
Jill - congratulations on your book being a finalist in the Genesis book contest. I hope you win grand prize. I also hope you get a vacation soon.
ReplyDeleteMy husband and I were just talking about Scotland because he is a golfer and they might play a game there. I said I wanted to go. He comes home today with brochures for Scotland, Ireland, and London. It would be just us, not the golfers. It would be in the fall. All of a sudden something exciting might happen. If it doesn't, it's nice to dream.
