Preparing for Sports Season Vlog

April is here, and with it, the crazy sports' schedules of our two kids. I shuttle them to different activities all year round, but both kids gravitate toward spring/summer sports, so it gets intense this time of year.

I am not complaining, though! Allowing our kids to be involved with things they enjoy is a privilege I'm thankful to give them.

So I have my own way of "training" for this busy season. Here is my latest webisode of the 2 Minute Resolutions series!

Preparing For Sports Season

What extra responsibilities does April bring for you?

Have a terrific weekend!!

  1. When The Young One was involved with soccer, I used to pray for thunder. At the first clap of thunder, the game would be cancelled. :D

  4. Hi, Jill! It used to be crazier when the oldest was doing high school track or cross country and the youngest was doing soccer at the same time. Fall and spring were crazy around here! Now it's just soccer for the youngest, not so bad. I keep a folding chair (the kind with the strap case) and a blanket, too! Hadn't thought of the soda and magazines, though. ;)

Sounds like you're ready! Have fun!

    1. We're in high school track and travel baseball--it gets a little crazy! But I love it!

I bet it's a lot of fun watching soccer now. They get so much better when they're older!

  6. We just signed up for t-ball. So this will be my very sports season ever - unless you can count going to my husband's softball games. :) I'm pretty sure there will be fewer tantrums from the 4-year-olds than some of those grown men. LOL.

    1. I loved t-ball!! The kids all run to the wrong bases, they have no idea how to catch the ball, and they pick dandelions in the outfield! It's the best! Enjoy!!

  7. I keep chairs and blanket in the back of my car too! :) And yay for the can of Coke!
We are crazy much of the year, too. We are on weekend three of A RARE no games (basketball ended ) but track and baseball games start next week!

  8. This has been be our 14th season as hockey parents. Sadly, our 3 boys are umm, sorta really, really good, so we/they play at a higher level. ALOT. Do you how cold some rinks are???? Almost every Monday since November, I had to wake the youngest (10yrs) up at 4:45am to be on the ice by 6am.

    I love soccer.

But hey, at least we aren't dressage or 3 day eventing parents.

    1. I thought of you when I was putting this post together--4:45am makes me cry! My son excels at baseball, so he's always either on an all star or travel team--which is a huge blessing. If they want to play, I'd rather have them be good at it, you know? :)

  9. You have a great plan for sports season.

Since I don't have any kiddos, this isn't an issue for me. However, gardening season is upon us. I've saved clear plastic boxes from Costco cookies and pastries, toilet paper tubes, and a couple of empty milk gallons.

I'm going to use these seemingly unrelated items to start seeds and protect them from the cold. (I've been on Pinterest too much lately!)
