One Minute Vacay: Dec. 3

It's that time of year again! All month long, I'll be featuring One Minute Vacations! Each post will be a chance to rest and smile and just catch your breath for sixty seconds.

Today's drop of bliss?

Snow and coziness!

Doesn't that snowy lane shout "Christmas"? It does for me! I would love to walk under those beautiful pines. Maybe a deer would hop out onto the pathway. Maybe not. I just like to think it would. :)

There's something  magical about stomping inside after a nice, winter's walk and warming up by the fire. It's even better when there is a gorgeous Christmas tree by the fireplace.

The contrasts of a walk in crisp, winter air and relaxing by a cozy fire make December lovely.

What relaxes you in December?

Have a terrific Monday!

  1. Snow days. When you are forced to stay in because the roads are bad. Though I could do without the snow.

  2. Reading by the fire no doubt. Hot chocolate.

  3. I wish we had a fireplace. We did just get a firepit for the backyard, but it's not the same. But I love looking at my tree all lit up in the evenings. It's so cozy!

  4. Like Lindsay, I wish we had a fireplace this time of year. They look so pretty decorated for Christmas.

  5. I want a fireplace! (seems to be a recurring theme here;) ) I love coming in from the cold and cozying up with a warm drink, slippers, my blanket and the twinkling lights of my Christmas tree with Christmas carols in the background.

  6. We do have a fireplace this year, and I sit by it almost daily when I write--even though it's still hitting 60 here in CO. What's up with that?,

  7. That top photo makes me think of Narnia. Pretty!!

What relaxes me in December...traveling home and hanging out at my parents' house. Sure, I can decorate my own place, but nothing says Christmas to me like my parents'. Besides, they have a fire place. And a hot tub. And it's just way too fun sitting out in the hot tub outside when there are icicles hanging overhead. :)

  8. Having my family all home, watching SCROOGE, listening to Christmas music. Not having anything on the evening's calendar so we can all be together.

  9. That looks nice! Yes, relaxing inside when it's cold and snowing outside sounds perfect. My hubby has the entire week of Christmas off from work so we're looking forward to some family time. Don't know if it will snow, though, it's been so warm here!

  10. I want a nice snowy walk. I'm wearing flip flops right now in Louisiana and dreaming of a white Christmas! :)

  11. The scene is very pretty. I have actually had deer jump out at me in my car. This happens a lot around here. Have to be very careful.

I love to relax by playing a Christmas movie or reading a Christmas book. By the way, I bought Miracle on 34th Street DVD and have borrowed the book from a library on your suggestion. Can't wait to enjoy them.

  12. When I saw that top photo, I thought, "Oh!" A quiet walk, the hush of a crisp, cold morning. Time to contemplate, to appreciate the silence, to find my center once more. Thanks for sharing.

  13. Thank you SO much for stopping by, everyone! I'm sorry I wasn't around yesterday. I squeezed in errands and Christmas shopping. :)

    Loved reading all your comments!!

Morgan--I hope you enjoy both! I love the updated Miracle on 34th movie too! :)

  14. December 26th relaxes me. Up until then, it's go time. My family knows that I will not even get out of my jammies on Boxing Day. I'll have a new book and the door to our bedroom might even be locked.

  15. I have to admit... though I like the drama of snow in KY, I'm not a fan of the cold. And yesterday, it was 70 degrees here in KY, so I'm struggling to even imagine Christmas-like weather. I'm off from work in December, so I love driking coffee by the fire curled up with my laptop, but 70 degrees does not inspire the fireplace. A long walk in the warmth, however, did relax me. :)
