Thank
you for joining me in welcoming…Maria I. Morgan!!
I met Maria through her beautiful
devotional blog, Life Lessons. Maria inspires me. Not
only does she encourage our spiritual lives on her blog, she also advocates
healthy living—always a welcome subject in my house! I’m thrilled to have her
here today.
Let’s get to it!
1. Beverage of choice?
For mornings, it's got to be Maxwell House's Suisse Mocha. The sugar free, decaf variety - since caffeine and I don't get along. The rest of the day? Good old H2O is my beverage of choice! A hint of lemon or lime adds just enough pizzazz to make it refreshing and fun!
2. Any pets?
Absolutely!
Our sweet, kitty named Courtney loves being the queen of the house. She has a
highly efficient motor and purrs every chance she gets. We have two dogs, a
Golden Retriever, Precious, and a Chesapeake Bay Retriever, Mighty Joe. They
have their own official outdoor 'bark parks,' and thoroughly enjoy greeting everyone
who walks by. And just like kids, they have totally different personalities.
Precious just loves to cuddle; Joe is all about playing. Our pets often inspire
me with topics for my blog, Life Lessons!
3. Dream vacation?
You're really generating some thought on this one, Jill! I love warm weather - so I'm going to say a tropical destination. I love a nice, sandy beach where I can relax with a good book, or get out in the water to kayak or snorkel. Yup! I can imagine it now, completing an award-winning, inspirational, Christian romance novel by Jill Kemerer, before heading out to swim with the exotic fish and sea turtles... Sounds like the perfect vacation to me!
4. What are you listening to right now?
Ahhh! The silence of being the only one at home right now. It's easiest for me to write with no distractions. Reminds me of a Bible verse the Lord has etched into my heart, "Be still, and know that I am God..." (Psalm 46:10; KJV).
5. What's for dinner?
My
family's favorite chili - Indian Summer Turkey Chili (a Rachael Ray recipe),
served with a field green salad, fruit cup, and cheesecake. The good thing? I
made the chili yesterday, so I don't have to cook tonight! Woo-hoo!

Maria,
I’ve been drinking more water lately, and I’ve noticed it perks me up better
than a soda. Not sure how that’s possible! Your pets sound delightful—love strong
purring motors and barky dogs. But I’m sooo with you on silence. Nothing better than a
quiet house with no background noise.
I’m inviting myself along on your tropical getaway—and how sweet of you to say that about my books! We’ll have some sunshine, frozen drinks, and a lot of laughter. Anyone else want to join? Oh, and I’m a Rachael Ray magazine subscriber—the chili sounds yummy! Thanks so much for being my guest today!

Who’s
raided the Easter candy? Fess up!
Have a marvelous Wednesday!
Your dogs sound like mine! They think it's their job to greet everyone in the neighborhood when kids are on their way to the playground.
ReplyDeleteJulie - Great to see you! Yes, our dogs have both proven themselves worthy of the title, 'watchdog.' Have a fantastic week & God bless!
DeleteDon't I wish, Julie. My yappy mini-dachshund thinks it's her job to act like a guard dog when anyone walks past our house. And the mailman? It's the thrill of her day to stand on the back of our couch and bark!
DeleteThanks so much for inviting me to be a part of your 5 Easy Questions Wednesday, Jill! Even though they were 'easy' questions, you definitely got me thinking. Appreciate you, Jill! God bless!
ReplyDeleteAw, we have a kitty who rules the roost and a golden retriever puppy who doesn't realize it! :)
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, I admit it, I've been eating the little sweetart candies in the shapes of ducks, bunnies, and some other cute animal. *blush* Not to mention the Starburst jellybeans...too tempting.
Nice to meet you, Lindsay! Sounds like we have some pets in common. Aren't golden puppies adorable?!
DeleteAnd where candy is concerned - I must admit I had a couple sour patch kids yesterday!
Yes, they are stinkin' adorable...and they know it too. It's hard to say no to those big brown eyes...
DeleteAnd gasp! I adore Sour Patch Kids. They're my favorite. :) Have you had the jellybeans? They make them around Easter, so go grab some quick!
Had no idea there were Sour Patch jellybeans!! Thanks for the heads-up (or should I say, tummy-up!) Heading out the door now!
DeleteThanks for being my guest, Maria!! Loved your answers--but don't tell anyone, I'm slurping a FULLY caffeinated coffee right now. :) Shh...
ReplyDeleteThe pleasure is all mine! And no worries - I only wish my stomach could handle the caffeine. Enjoy your caffeinated brew!
DeleteHubby came home yesterday and declared the Easter bunny has come early. Yup. Mini snickers have been nibbled on. Maria, fun to see you here. That turkey chili sounds amazing. And this is another reminder I need to drink more water!
ReplyDelete~ Wendy
Hi Wendy! Great to see you! Mini Snickers sound really good right now. Have a blessed Easter, and happy writing!
DeleteMmm...Mini Snickers! :)
DeleteI love you both and I'm up for the vacation including reading an NYT best-seller by Jill! :) Happy Easter!
ReplyDeleteAlways good to see you, Jess! Happy Easter to you, too! Love celebrating the resurrection! Have a wonderful week full of His blessings.
DeleteOh, Jessica, I'm laughing at that! You're too sweet. I feel the same about you!
DeleteSuch a great interview! Nice to "meet" you, Maria. ;)
ReplyDeleteUmmm...I haven't had a Cadbury mini-egg for over two weeks. This is just wrong.
Thanks for the sweet comments, Melissa! Great to meet you, too! Sounds like there's a Cadbury mini-egg in your near future! Have a blessed Easter!
DeleteMelissa, I keep the bags to smell the aroma. It's weird. But necessary. Cadbury Mini-Eggs rock!
DeleteI'm a fan of warm weather, too, Maria. And I'm a cat person. Too bad our fellows don't purr as readily as your gal.
ReplyDeleteHello Keli! I'm looking forward to taking your novel with me on my beach vacation as well!
DeleteSpeaking of cats purring, Courtney will start purring if you just look at her. Funny, I know. Maybe she can Skype your cats and give them a few lessons! Have a blessed Easter!
Keli, I want to snuggle with your kitty!
DeleteHi Jill! Hi Maria! I love turkey chili, and anything RR makes.
ReplyDeleteGreat fun to get to know you, Maria.
I have not raided the Easter candy...it was the mouse.
Hi Loree! I'm with you on the Rachael Ray recipes - although I must admit that her 30 min. meals take me 90 min. I'm knife-skills challenged! Happy Easter! And I hope you catch that candy snatching mouse!
DeleteSure, Loree, and spiders ate all my truffles. :)
DeleteI love water!! Your cat sounds adorable and it would be awesome to read the bestselling Kemerer's work. *grin* I'd need to get it signed, of course.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the fun interview!
Okay, cracking up over here! Congrats on your release, Jessica!!
DeleteAbsolutely! Signed copies are the best. Enjoy your Easter weekend!
DeleteHi, Maria! Hi, Jill! Maria's blog is one of my favorites for sure. I don't get to read it as much as I would like, but always feel encouraged when I stop by!
ReplyDeleteAs for the warm, tropical vacation. I do live in Hawaii...whos' up for a Girl's Getaway Weekend?
Hi Ralene! Thanks for your sweet words about my blog. To quote Jill, "I'm absent too much around the blogosphere too."
DeleteWhich Hawaiian island do you live on? Love the Girl's Getaway idea - would you and Jill spring for a Girl's Getaway Week?!
Ralene, I'm absent too much around the blogosphere too. :) I'm dying to take you up on that girl's getaway. Hawaii here we come!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely post! I am always amazed at how interesting the simple things are. I love hearing what people like to drink, pets, food, family, dreams, etc...
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing.
Nice to meet you, Cheryl! So glad you stopped by Jill's amazing blog! And I agree - the simple things ARE very interesting! God bless.
DeleteCheryl, I feel the same way--I love getting to know the little things! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteLovely to meet Maria. She is right about drinking water. It is so good for you.
ReplyDeleteThanks for introducing her to us, Jill.
Have a wonderful Easter weekend.
