Christmas is approaching. I know. You think it's far off, way after that upcoming candy holiday, and long after the turkey one, but it's not. I'm pretty sure time warps after October!
So, I'm preparing for it by brainstorming gift ideas for my friends.
Here are some options.
Book, CD, DVD, lotion, shirt, scarf/hat/gloves, slippers, pajamas, candle, chocolate or other edibles, tote bag, game, fun kitchen stuff, and gift cards.
Please, add to the list. I need ideas!!
Thanks!
Join me on Friday to discuss our favorite candy.
Magazine subscription, good makeup brushes, hmmm... that's all I can think of, your list hit a bunch of my standard ideas!
ReplyDeleteI think you just about covered all I can think of! Sometimes I'll give a batch of home-baked chocolate chip cookies or other such goodies.
ReplyDeleteYou have a wonderful list. With 2 girls in college, not a lot of extra do-re-me to spend. The past few years, I have made a donation to the girls' (former) high school. The donation doesn't break my budget and the school and kids benefit.
ReplyDeleteMassage gift certificate. Please?
ReplyDeleteI do magazine subscriptions for a couple of friends, and books are ALWAYS good. :)
ReplyDeleteGift cards and food- both are always used!
ReplyDelete"Indulge-me" certificates are always nice--massage, mani/pedi. Oh and what about Starbucks gift cards? A fave of mine! Natch.
ReplyDeleteI like to buy candles, but get this...once I got spices as a housewarming gift. It was awesome. Such a unique and useful gift.

My list this year includes, certificates for facials and pedicures, books, Pandora charms, Necklush, and build-your-own robots for the little boys on my list. For the big one I'm getting an ornamental tomahawk (he collects weapons) and a subscription to Archaelogy magazine.
ReplyDeleteAwesome suggestions! I love the idea of home-baked goodies, gift cards for services or magazines, donations, and build-your-own robots! I want one of those!

Jill, I had lunch with a good friend today and we laughed about our best gifts ever...nothing! We choose not to exchange birthday or Christmas gifts, and it's so liberating. We figure we'd rather spend the cash on lunch together. And my friend who lives across the country...well, we don't exchange gifts either. It's wonderful!
ReplyDeleteWhat I'm trying to say is, I'm not helpful when it comes to this subject!
I love buying people flowers...especially when they are NOT sick! It's lovely to have a bunch of fresh flowers in your home, especially if a they came to you from a friend. :)
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful (rest of the) week...
Oh, I love that too! Just go out to lunch and skip the gifts! And who doesn't love flowers? I know I do!

We do a lot of theme baskets, like pasta gift basket with made from scratch pasta and sauces, BBQ gift basket with my husbands BBQ sauce, some dry rub etc. Neat to tuck in a personalized hand towel or apron:)
ReplyDeleteMm, BBQ! Sounds delicious!
