Friday Tidbits

I survived another week of winter!

And by survived I mean I spent every day in my cozy house with lots of food, running water, and the Internet. Yeah, it's a rough life. :)

It's rough for Sophie, too. :)

Bad thing:
I skipped exercising every day but once this week.

Good thing:
I still have a quarter bag of my emergency M&Ms.

I'm reading a book called Organizing Your Day by Sandra Felton and Marsha Sims. Thought-provoking questions and exercises. My favorite quote so far is a series of affirmations:

"If I change my thinking, I change my feelings.
If I change my feelings, I change my actions.
If I change my actions, I change my life."

Isn't that the truth? Good stuff! And you know what? I'm feeling happy. Optimistic. Isn't that the best?

Looking forward to the Super Bowl and the Puppy Bowl. And the nachos. The chocolate. Mmm...snacks!

What's going on with you?

Have a terrific weekend!

  1. Leaving hibernation today to go pick up the repaired dining room chair from the Antique Doctor. The chair isn't an antique. Happily the doc does furniture repair at reasonable prices

    1. Ooh-la-la! Furniture repair at reasonable prices! Nice!!

  2. Love this. I skipped exercising this morning to spend a little time with my story. Now, I'm corralling and managing two boys who are at each other's throats. Sigh.

But, I am attending a writer's conference in town tomorrow, and looking forward to watching my Broncos play on Sunday. :)

    1. Yay!! I'm not the only one who skipped exercising, has snow-day kids, and loves the Broncos! Whoop! Whoop!!

  3. I'm looking forward to the snacks too! LOL Go away, winter!!!

  4. Optimism is good--yay! And yay for surviving another week of winter. My week was a doozy.'s Friday. YAY! I have a lot to do this weekend, but at the end of it all is some fun with family celebrating my Dad's bday, so there's that to look forward to for sure.

    1. Sorry your week was a doozy. You need the weekend. And your dad's b-day cake! :)

  5. This weekend? Let's see...

Torch-anneal some hard aluminum and see if it makes it soft enough to form a set of ME 109 fin spars.

Work on the jigging for the hat-section 109 tailcone stiffeners

Get my 'Marriage Book' ready for Kindle by designing a cover

Continue the revision of 'Emerald Isle'

Write a few days' blog posts.

    Deal with terminal illness

    Take care of 27 dogs

    Bake a gluten-free cake

Makes me tired just writing it!

    1. I really admire how you tackle life even with your difficulties. May the weekend be productive!

  6. Ohhhh...I love your little Sophie! Annnd... you know how I feel about optimism.

Now... what's going on in my neck of the woods? Like I told Jess... you wouldn't believe it. You'll just have to read today's post when it goes live in a bit. I can laugh now, but yesterday, it was a mite hard! :)

  7. I'm sitting here writing blog posts and visiting blogs. :)

Have fun watching the big game. I know it's a big deal for a lot of people.

I love to hear from you!
