Shopping, November, and Ripped Jeans

"No shade, no shine, no butterflies, no bees, no fruits, no flowers, no leaves, no birds--November!" ~ Thomas Hood

It's cold here! Cold and blowy and November.

I heard my first Christmas song of the season on the radio today. It didn't please me.

Three pair of my jeans have either developed, or are in the process of developing, holes in the knees.

Soon I will be shopping. Not for jeans--heavens no!--not for those! *shuddering* No, I'm making up the Christmas list and circling sale ads. Shopping and I typically don't get along. I am not looking forward to this.

On a good note, I've been doing yoga for a few weeks. I love it! I've practiced it off and on for about sixteen years. Never gets old!

What's going on with you?

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!!

  1. Heard Christmas music yesterday, while in Kohl's looking for a navy handbag for me. I almost screamed ARe you kidding me! We haven't even had Thanksgiving! Or words to that effect. Christmas shopping is done mostly on line. Less aggravation

  2. I'm irked at one of our Christian radio stations, they've been playing Christmas music since November 1st. I. Am. Not. Happy. It's too soon and it loses the magic when it's on for that long. Okay, rant over. :)

We took the boys bike riding last spring. We had a beautiful day and a fun ride. Until my almost new, favorite jeans got caught in the chain and created a long rip up the side of the leg. Sigh. I love blue jeans, but not holes.

My hubby and I make a date day of it and do our Christmas shopping on Black Friday. We're in task mode, but we love having lunch and sipping coffee during the day as well. It's our tradition. :) And it makes shopping more fun.

    1. I'm with you! I love Christmas music--but two months of it steals the joy!! Bummer about your jeans. I feel your pain.

That's so cool about you and your hubby having a shopping date on Black Friday. What a great idea!

  3. What's going on with me? I'm about to have my second free, relaxing weekend IN A ROW. This never happens. Obviously, I'm a little overly excited about it.

And, confession (don't throw anything at me) I have no qualms with Christmas music and Christmas decorations in stores, etc, etc, etc. Christmas always goes so quickly...it's such a busy time, it seems. So I have no issues with spreading it out. :)

    1. No way!! What are you going to do with yourself? I'm suggesting sweats, coffee, and the remote. :)

  4. Sorry about the jeans, Jill. I know how tough it can be to find pairs we like and how painful it can be when they pack it in.

I wish you well on the Christmas shopping. Based on what I've seen in the stores, shoppers seem to believe the recovery is beginning because they are already out there in droves.

Glad the yoga is working well for you.

    1. Swimsuit shopping and buying new jeans rank the worst on my shopping list. Yuck!

Thanks for the encouragement--I need it!!

  5. I've been watching the Christmas movies on the Hallmark Channel despite the fact I think they started way too earlier. Still they're sweet stories and that's what I like to watch. Nice to escape a lot of other junk on television these days. On the upside, I shop online since my shopping list is small so I can avoid the stores. However, I'll have to gear up for all that baking and cooking for company on Christmas Eve. And I really do want to get started with Yoga. Just seems like there's never enough time in my already crazy, hectic days.

    1. I LOVE those movies!! I'm looking forward to watching them soon too! Online shopping is a great way to get it done. So smart! I hear you on the time, too. That's why I'm enjoying a DVD with five different workouts. They're all less than 25 minutes, but they really work!

  7. I love yoga - glad to know you're still going at it! :) So switch your jeans out for your yoga pants, much comfier anyway! I'm getting my lists ready too, and shopping and I don't agree either. But now Christmas music, I'm playing it loud and strong!
