How Long Will It Take Me To Hang These Curtains?

I'm playing a little game today. It's called, "How long will it take me to hang these curtains?"

My hubby and I bought curtains for our bedroom. We purchased them on March 16, 2013. Yes, your math is write--that was six weeks ago.

Have I bought curtain rods?

No.

Have I taken the curtains out of the packages to iron them?

No.

Where are the curtains now, you ask?

On the floor of my bedroom closet. In their packages. In a plastic bag.

I'm sure if I
a. bought curtain rods,
b. asked my husband to install them,
and c. ironed the curtains,
the process of hanging them would take roughly fifteen minutes.

But...

It will probably take me four months, thirteen days, seven hours, and fifty-three minutes to actually get them hung. It's called procrastination, folks, and I'm good at it!

Have you purchased something for the home only to let it languish unused for months on end?

(Happy birthday, Mom!! Love you!!)

Have a wonderful Monday!

  1. Oh my that so sounds like me! I have pictures that need hung so bad it's not funny and yet they continue to collect dust. Sigh.

    1. I know. I do the same thing... I'm not a good picture-hanger-upper. My husband is fab at it!

  2. Oh my gosh, yes! I'm better than I used to be, but I have so many unfinished household projects. That's our goal, me and hubby, to get all our projects done in each room by the summertime (okay, maybe the end of summer).

  4. So many waiting-to-be-done house projects. The one at the top of the list: Hang all the updated photos on the stairway wall leading up to the bedrooms. The wall's been newly painted. Now to get the new photos printed out and framed ... oh yeah. How soon is that going to happen?

    1. Nice! I love fresh paint!

I have so many pictures I need to get printed out. Yes, I still make photo albums! I'm old school...

    1. I'm a selective procrastinator. There are things I always do right away. The others? We won't talk about them! Thanks!!

  6. HA! YEs! And I keep it all on closet floor too! IT seems like our house is at the bottom of a very long list. I've even bought stuff that by the time we get around to it, we don't like it any more. Sad, but true!

    1. Ha! Ha! Oh, I know! It's terrible, isn't it? We need a reality show "if closets could talk, they'd tell us to..." for me it would be, "hang the curtains already, dummy!!"

    1. Ha!! Yes! I know this. There is NO way I'm laying floor! I've helped my hubby grout, but I'm more of a helper than a leader on home projects!

  8. I bought some wallpaper border for the living room and for our bedroom. The living room border got used. The bedroom border might have gotten tossed out.I don't like to do things like buy something and then not do what I planned with it. No one encouraged me to get it done. 'Nuf said.

    1. I don't like to do that either, but sometimes it happens. Life gets in the way. It's okay!

    2. Writing a blog can be difficult, but even with the odds, you’ve managed to get quite an audience. I highly recommend that you consider writing an ebook one day.
