Office Supply Delight

Do you walk into an office supply store and get a rush of excitement? Do the aisles of pens, folders, printers, paper, and organizing supplies put a goofy smile on your face? If yes, you aren't alone.

I love office supplies!

What is it about day planners, giant desktop calendars, Sharpies, staplers, tape dispensers, hole punches, magazine holders, calculators, and blank labels that make me giddy? I don't know. All I know is during back-to-school sales, I buy tons of pens, red and black, for myself. Single subject notebooks? Loose-leaf paper? All mine.

I recently scored a three-pack of cardboard magazine holders and they were covered with an adorable butterfly design. Who could resist? Certainly not me!

What aisle of the office supply store are you drawn to? What items do you have to have? Anyone else salivate when a Staples Rewards coupon comes in the mail?

Join me on Friday to set one goal!

  3. Perfect time of year for lovers like you of stores like Staples! I get more excited about the latest electronic gadgets, but I can't live without my many coloured spiral 200 page notebooks, and blue bic fine pens. Have to be BLUE. I cringe when I have a black pen in hand!

  4. I love love love office stores! I could seriously pitch a tent in one and live there for a week and be happy. I think my favorite aisle is the pen aisle, which is odd because I don't write longhand very much. Oh, wait, I really like the notebooks and stationery. Or maybe the paper shredders...

I just love the office store. I'd like to bottle the smell of it. :)

  8. I'm with Joanne, it's all about the sense of possibility. Must be why the notebooks are my fav. All those blank pages--whatever will I fill them with? Eek!

  9. Sigh...i JUST bought a new pack of multi- colored sharpies- for no other reason than I was just excited to get them! haha- so your admission of "office supply excitement" makes me feel normal. The back 2 school aisles are full and it DOES make me excited. Maybe there is a profound psychological reason for this :)

  14. Hi Jill -

I can never have enough notebooks and post-it-notes. Whenever there's a sale, I'm right there to snag a bargain.

Did you know you can recycle inkjet cartridges at Staples and get a Rewards credit for $3.00. I usually save my empty cartridges for a few months and then turn them in for credit.

    Blessings,
    Susan :)

  15. I love planners. And the teaching supply section with the window clings and the alphabet charts. And the specialty items, like calligraphy pens and India ink, and drafting tools, and... Yes, the office supply store is *almost* as good as the book store.

  20. I love office supplies way too much. Once I went into Staples to fax something and walked out with a tub of paper clips shaped like hearts and stars and feet. Happens way too often.

  21. I love office supplies! Except I usually buy a bunch with the intent to better organize my life, but they just end up sitting unused. I'm not an organized person and no amount of planners, notebooks, or post-its will make me one. :/
